The first few days of pregnancy

In the first few days after conception, you may not experience any noticeable changes. However, after a week or two, you may notice some early pregnancy symptoms such as:

– Missed period

– Nausea and vomiting

– Fatigue

– Tender or swollen breasts

– Frequent urination

– Cravings or aversions to certain foods

– Mood swings

Before I decided to take a pregnancy test, I was completely in denial and did not want to believe my symptoms. Every symptom I was having – I had an excuse as to why it was happening, lol.

First, my boobs were EXTREMELY swollen. I already had bigger boobs, but they were super big and sensitive to the touch. Second, my stomach was super crampy for a couple weeks and it wasn’t period cramps but gassy cramps. To make it all worse, I was still drinking so the cramps would almost take me out. Third, This may be TMI but my urine was a very, very bright yellow. I had never heard anything on bright urine being a sign of pregnancy but as my pregnancy progressed the color of my urine went back to the normal color. Fourth, the thing nobody warns you about is the excessive amount of discharge you have in the beginning. You almost think you have some type of infection by how much you may have daily. Luckily, for me it wasn’t as extreme as I have heard but it was more than a normal amount a day. As my pregnancy moved along the discharge slowed but as you get further into your 3rd trimester it comes back with a vengeance due to your body preparing for birth.

One thing I believe is important to note is that I did not miss my menstrual cycle. I had my last period 2 weeks, on time, before I decided to take a pregnancy test. I strongly believe this is why I was in such denial. That next month, after taking the test and getting a positive result, I missed my period and did not have one for the remainder of my pregnancy. Remember: Just because you have your cycle does not mean you are 100% in the clear.

Those were my early signs of pregnancy and as time moved on the symptoms began to add on. Every pregnancy is different so don’t get stuck on another womans journey. Your journey is special to you and one of a kind.
